Commercial Property Maintenance
During spring, summer, and fall, our regular visits occur every week, even though the service being completed may vary by week. The best yard and lawn care does not take place at a pre-determined date, but when the weather and yard necessitate. This is especially true for services that take place in spring and fall. As such, we will use our professional discretion each week to determine what services need to be addressed. Through this process, we can assure you that all lawn-care described below will be maintained in the most effective and efficient way.
The cost of each visit is a flat rate that is the quoted price when a bid is requested and the “Visit Price” listed on the contract. Each visit is billed separately, and not as a monthly rate.
Every week, all lawns will be mowed, straight edged, and string trimmed. The grass will be mulched whenever possible and bagged when it is too wet or too long to mulch. All concrete will be blown off and all landscaped beds will be checked for weeds and debris. This service will occur during our regular visits.
Current Clients: In the spring, a crew will visit the property to make sure all bushes, tree shoots, and low branches have been trimmed and cleaned up. Weeds will be pulled and/or sprayed. Pine needles, trash, leaves, and debris will be cleaned up. The grass will be trimmed and edged so the property is ready for weekly maintenance. For existing clients, this service will occur during one of our first regular visits in the spring.
New Clients: After signing the contract, regardless of the time of year, a crew will visit the property to make sure all bushes, tree shoots, and low branches are trimmed and cleaned up. Weeds will be pulled and/or sprayed. Pine needles, trash, leaves, and debris will be cleaned up. The grass will be trimmed and edged so the property is ready for weekly maintenance. For all new clients, the price is $45/man hour, plus $10/gallon for any weed spray used, plus $25 per truckload of debris hauled off.
In early spring, a crew will visit the property to aerate and fertilize any grass. This service is crucial to the yearlong health of the lawn as it allows nutrients and water access to the roots when nutrients are most needed. It also provides room for root growth. This service will occur during one of our first regular visits in the spring.
Pre-Emergent Bed Spray:
In the spring, all non-turf landscaped areas will be sprayed with a pre-emergent chemical. This is not a weed killer. It impedes new seeds from growing. This service will occur during one of our regular visits in the spring.
Sprinkler System Start-Up & Inspection:
In the spring, when the weather allows, we will turn on the irrigation water and inspect the sprinkler system. If needed, repairs will be made, and parts and labor will be charged additionally. We will set and control automatic timers and adjust them as needed throughout the season. This service will occur during one of our first regular visits in the spring. Repairs will be billed separately.
Twice a year, in late summer and during winter dormancy, bushes, shrubs, plants, small trees etc. will be trimmed and cleaned up. The service in late summer will occur during one of our regular visits. The service during winter dormancy will take place sometime between December and March; the cost will be due when the service occurs and is your regular visit price.
At least four times a year, all grass will be fertilized. We have engineered our fertilizer recipes and do not use store-bought fertilizers. The program is designed to give the grass the nutrients it needs during key times of the year. All fertilizer treatments are applied during regular visits.
Sprinkler System Winterization:
At the beginning of winter, as temperatures dictate, we will shut down sprinklers. For a healthy lawn the following year, the grass should go into dormancy due to cold temperatures, not from lack of water. Turning off the water too early can be detrimental to the overall health of the lawn. This service will occur during one of our regular visits.
At the beginning of winter, when the grass is done growing and leaves have fallen, we will visit the property one last time to make sure it is ready for winter. (Some years, snow falls before all leaves have completely fallen from trees.) Grass will be mowed ¼” – ½” shorter than usual to prevent against snow mold, fungus, and other disease as well as trimmed and edged one last time so that it looks sharp through the winter. This service will be our final visit of the year.
